Decisions, Decisions
Aug. 19th, 2009 03:43 pmI'm currently soaking in the glory that is Handel's Messiah.
The entire performance is on Youtube. Phenomenal....
So, here's an opportunity.
I get to perform it at the Raue Center before Christmas break only if I join MCC's choir for the fall semester. MCC's choir and the community choir will do a combined concert.
Honestly, what's stopping me?
A. choir is mediocre/majority of the members don't try hard. last year people really got on my nerves.
B. sound is OK, but I heard there are more members this year. so we shall see if it improves... 12 guys! Boo yah!
C. director doesn't choose good pieces. Although I don't blame him for choosing middle school difficulty pieces considering he's taught middle school for the past 30 years before coming to MCC.
D. I was placed as an alto. I'm more of a soprano and the songs we did last semester made me lose some of my range. Sad day... I'll have to work on that during my voice lessons.
If the above list didn't annoy me so much, I'd say yes in a heartbeat.
Although, if I take on choir, I will be at 14 credit hours. That will be my highest course load yet.
I'm thinking... deciding.... tossing the options like a salad...
What do you think? Would you suffer another semester of a choir that you didn't particularly enjoy?
Opinions, please?
You know I can't resist an opportunity to sing.
