My class schedule for the fall goes as follows:
- Intro to Government (3 credits and goes toward my social science credit and I don't have to take history over.)
- Intro to Oceanography (4 credits because there is a lab)
- Intro to Psychology (3 credits and a class I am excited for)
- Voice lessons (1 credit - for fun)
- Jazz Ensemble (1 credit - also for fun)
- Physical fitness (1 credit - to better my health)
In total I am taking 13 credit hours. I've already purchased my books and requested for alternative text. A notetaker will accompany me to the classes where I need them. I"m looking into getting a book reader for my etext. It might be a little more pleasant than battling it out with an outdated Zoomtext trial. I was considering GW Micro's BookSenseXT. There are a couple more features on it that I like. I know I was hyped up about the VR Stream, but I compared the two devices and found that the BookSense has much more to offer.
These past couple days have been so intense. Being busy is awesome, but it's sure tiring!
Thursday: I looked for an outfit for AG's wedding. Fortunately for me, the local Marshall's carried the perfect dress for the occasion. I hopped on the Metra and took it to Chicago. Sue had an extra ticket for me to see Jersey Boys at the Bank of America Theater (formerly known as the Schubert Theater). I had a very handsome guy assist me when I got lost. (One of the advantages of having a dog, I guess... *smile* ) The show itself was incredible!!! There was a lot of cussing, but the music was phenomenal. And, as a bonus, we met the cast afterward! All of those men were very handsome! The actor who played Frankie Valli was so talented! Everyone was nice. I ended up spending the night at ICRE Wood.
Friday: I took the 10:30 AM train back home. I had a doctor's appointment at 1:15, but didn't get called in until about 2:20 PM. My new doctor is kind. He's 29 and already has his Ph.D!!! I was so impressed with how knowledgeable and supportive he was. I left the appointment feeling good about myself. After the appointment my mother and I went to look at cell phones. We're eligible for an upgrade due to possibly renewing our contract. I found nothing that was affordable that I liked. I came home and relaxed until AS picked me up. We went to BD's party and had a great time. I didn't step into my house until just before 3 AM.
Saturday: I rose at 11:45 AM. Exhausted, I almost fell asleep in the shower. I was ready to leave by 1:25 PM to go to SD's house. She was going to drive me to the wedding. The ceremony was beautiful. I almost cried like ten times. I held my tongue though. I was so happy for my friend. She is now Mrs. AZ. One of the cutest things I heard was at the reception. Her brother in law said, "A, welcome to the end of the alphabet. We are always last and have to wait our turn." Everything was just so beautiful. The reception was also very fun. The food was tasty and the dancing vigorous. I fell into bed at around 2 AM. This, mind you, was not by choice. I had to wait for her family to drive me back to the apartment. Nonetheless, I had a great time.
Today: I was rudely woken up at 5:55 AM. My parents phoned me every half hour after that first call until I was picked up at 7:30 AM. Ugh - I wanted to punch someone in the face. I faceplanted into my bed when I stepped inside my room. My mother woke me up around 10 because we had to leave for Rosemont. Upon arrival, I was drooped off and marched behind the corp. Jim at my side. After the parade, they had a standing performance which I was fortunate to catch on video. I'm so very happy to have witnessed such an excellent performance before the corp heads off to the DCI championships in Indianapolis this upcoming week. Food was eaten and then I fell asleep at my aunt's house. My sister and I quarreled as she dropped me off at the train station. I walked the mile home. Jim's work was next to flawless.
Tomorrow will be spent getting my blood drawn for my doctor, dropping off a signed copy of my financial aid letter, an eye doctor appointment, faxing DRS the paperwork for the fall, and doing geography homework. I have yet to purchase a ticket for DCI 2009: Big, Loud and Live 6 from Fandango. It's unfortunate that I can't go see the competition live. Ah well, better luck next year.
