Post For The Past
Sep. 14th, 2008 01:17 amWednesday: Really haven't done anything special. I went to the vision office and checked my Braille homework with Christie. I found mistakes that I corrected and redid my homework. I got an A on the assignment. *smile* So there is an incentive to correct homework when there's nothing to do. I attended Braille class and the reading session afterward. I talked with Christie for a while and went down the ramp to TLSE 240. Lecture went on forever... I was so hungry.. Teacher dearest finally called break and I zoomed over to the vending machines to get some snacks. During lecture, J.C. (our instructor) went on a tangent and randomly started talking about how beautiful the dogs were and how Alicia and I would be speaking for the vision impairment lecture in a couple weeks. Weird, eh? It was so out-of-the-blue, that I was snapped back into reality from my haze of drowsiness. After the lecture, Alicia and I ordered pizza. It was so delicious. I think I have some left in my fridge.... The rest of the night was spent preparing for my music exam. I went to bed pretty late....
Thursday: I went to bed at 8 AM and was woken up by my phone ringing. It was Ryan. I was supposed to meet him in Central and yet he came to my room! *sigh* I left my room and Andrea was sitting in the lounge. So, Andrea ended up teaching Ryan everything. I should have just continued my sleeping. After Ryan left for class, Andrea and I raided the Trident. Then I went to music and took the exam. I hope I got an A. It was pretty easy material. After class, Ryan and I walked back to the student center and chilled until he caught his bus. I went back to my room and took a shower, fed Jim, and prepared for an early dinner with Christie. Andrea accompanied me and we all ate together. Are you aware of Baker's Square's fantastic chicken fajita quesadias? They were fabulous. Andrea and I waltzed around campus and visited random stores. We looked at some posters and proceeded to Axe-In-Hand and looked at guitars. There's an amazing acoustic that I fell in love with. It is NOT too big for me like my current guitar and it has very good sound quality. Oh me, why do I want it so much? After the guitar store, we headed straight to the Stevens building AKA the theater building. Andrea left her car in the varsity plaza parking lot. Auditioning for Rocky Horror Picture show was so much fun. We Time Warped twice, performed cold readings, and scenes. I love being in shows. It was almost 9 PM when I returned to my room.
Friday: Don't remember when I got up. I believe it was early-ish. Sarah had called me. We went and got our ID's. NIU wanted its students to get new IDs. I got a new picture for mine. We made a stop at the scholarship office and the financial aid office. *Note: To Do: A SHITTON!* Sarah and I returned to the guitar store and once again I goggled at the guitar that I wanted so badly. We came back and I had about an 50 minutes until Kelsey was to give me a ride home. We were waiting for the chicken noodle soup. The guy was late. So Sarah and I were eating the soup as fast as we could before Kelsey showed up at West. I nearly choked because the soup was so hot. But I gathered all my stuff and miraculously made it to the car and we made it to my house. When I was home, I really didn't do much. I should have been working on homework. Adam came at around 9ish and we went out to Around the Clock, a diner, and I scarfed an Athenian burger and had some delicious French Onion soup. We went back to my house and hung out until 2 AM.
Saturday: I woke up around 10ish, took care of Jim and expected the day to be filled with things to do. I went to the bank, the post office, and the library. I got Margaret Cho's book "I Have Chosen To Stay And Fight". I read for a bit and fell asleep. Nothing happened until 5 PM when Adam, his mother, his sister, and I had dinner at Applebee's. I had garlic herb chicken. It was a small portion of grilled garlic chicken, some potatoes, and broccoli. It was pretty good, but you can guess that I was still a little hungry. After dinner, Adam and I trekked to Target. I purchased two 3 paks of Eclipse Germ killing gum for $3, a bag of Baja Starburst for $3, and a TY card for $2.50. Adam purchased windshield wipers. We went from Target to Circuit City to look at TVs and such. I still want a 32" LCD TV. It's possible I might have it for the near future.... Perhaps on Black Friday I'll be lucky. We sat in the parking lot waiting for a call back from Barb. We decided to watch a movie. Adam and I killed time at Borders. I looked at a zillion CDs that I wanted to buy and managed to choose just one. I took pictures of the CDs that I wanted but didn't have the money for so I could remember and buy them later. I bought Andrew Bird's Armchair Apocrypha. That cost me $16, but it was so worth it. Adam also got me some drink involving maple syrup and mocha. It was tasty... *smile* We drove to Regal, Adam bought the tickets, he went in to watch the previews, I waited for Barb and Josh. They got there and we got in just in time for the movie to start. The actual movie sucked, but Brad Pitt played a character that was totally different to his style. It was entertaining to watch. Overall, the movie was a nay in my opinion. It was around 11:45 PM when I arrived home. Adam immediately left for his own house after dropping me off. He had kind of irked me during the movie so I left him hangn' without a goodnight kiss. i don't feel the least bit sorry.
Sunday: My mother woke me up by telling me that Jim made a mess in the upstairs bedroom. He decided to leave me 4 packages in a neat little pile. I was furious! Nothing is perfect, but that is unacceptable. I guess there is a first for everything. It made me really upset. He's been acting up lately. Maybe it's because of the constant rain and the nasty weather. Or maybe, my parent's house doesn't feel like home anymore. We tidied up and left for my aunt and uncle's house and arrived there by 10:30 AM. I stayed at their house and found out that Kelsey was coming to get me at 5 PM to drive back to NIU. So, I left early without even experiencing the Korean thanksgiving ceremony or eating any of the amazing Korean food I smelled. None of my cousins were there either. Disappointed, I arrived home and packed all my crap. Kelsey came around 5:30 PM and we arrived at NIU at 6:45 PM. We decided to go to Culver's like we normally do. I ordered a deluxe double butterburger with fries and a rootbeer float. It was really good. LOL - fast food... I ate out a lot this weekend. I got back and was on the computer and still am. Oh, Sarah also gave me muffins.... I love muffins....
There is so much due tomorrow. This week looks like it'll be hectic.... I hope I get everything done. I'll just focus on the upcoming weekend. It'll get here soon enough.... Right?
