Food is everywhere in my room. I have an overwhelming amount of assorted chips, salami, and other stuff. Not to mention, an Asian always has to have her tea. Arizona green tea it is!

Today was spent lounging and writing papers. Sarah (once again) woke me up at 11:15 AM and asked if I wanted to get brunch. I grudgingly agreed. I feasted upon a blueberry waffle, really good potatoes with cheese (2 helpings), a bit of spaghetti, bacon (I didn't finish all of it), half a biscuit (couldn't finish it either), cereal (was stale so I only ate 3 spoonfuls), and a glass of Mountain Dew and two glasses of unsweetened ice tea. I also had a donut that I wanted for later, it went stale, then I accidentally dropped a book from my shelf on it. It went uneaten. I wasted a lot of food.... *sigh* Not all my fault. I wish NIU learned how to cook.

I was supposed to go back to my friend's house to correct my Braille homework. It didn't happen because I started working on my paper for TLSE 240. I fell asleep at the computer, woke up and started again. At that time, Sarah called me about going to dinner at Stevenson. I really didn't want to trudge all the way cross campus, but did so anyway. The food court was packed! I purchased Italian beef, mozzi sticks, spaghetti, a slice of cheesecake, two slices of cheese pizza, and a large drink. I ate the Italian beef for dinner. The mozzi sticks were way stale and not really appetizing. So I bit the remaining four in the middle and made a structure that resembled crucified Lincoln Logs. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was the best damn thing I ate all day. *laugh* Today was a day filled with heartburn.... But I survived.

I talked to [livejournal.com profile] shades_of_amber on the phone and was online until now.

Not an exciting day, I know. *sigh* Tomorrow is the third (actually it's the second) Monday of the semester. Oh joy.... I will be doing quite a lot of errands and attending two classes.

Till then, wish me luck so I don't die in my sleep due to over-consumption of a zillion calories.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sarah. She was mildly upset with her life.
It must be a bad day.... The rain isn't making me feel better.

A Letter

Dear NIU,
Your transportation sucks. Here's why: I stood out in the rain waiting for a specific bus for over a freakin' hour... My dog was soaking wet for that entire time. Students SUCK and don't know how to help a person with a vision impairment. They laugh... So I try not to ask people because there's no one who's nice enough to be honest and help me. Buses don't have big scrolls or announce which routes they are. There is also a bus for students who have disabilities, but I was knocked off your list so I have to call the office for the eighth time and ask why I'm off the list. I'm apparently not blind enough to get rides from class to class, but I am eligible for the ones off campus. What. the. FUCK?!?!?! How is it my fault that I can't read the damn scrolls? In fact, why do all blind students have to deal with that on this campus? It's like DeKalb has a good system unless you're blind. You are the type of people who make me hate college. I dearly hope that all the buses break down and that people have to walk. Or, I hope that all the scrolls break on the buses so that NO one can read them. That would dearly screw everyone over.
Signed,
Someone Who Hates the Buses

I never did go to Christie's to correct my Braille homework. Turns out that I got a B (6 errors) without me redoing everything. Not too shabby... My envelope was all torn up from the rain. I felt bad, but the prof gave me a new one. *smile* She's so COOL! ROFL... We went over how to braille numbers and everything that comes with them. After that, we played Go Fish with Braille cards. My group used the animal labeled cards and then began using the cards with instruments. I got bored with the game really fast. But it was a nice change that didn't involve listening to a lecture. Oh, I forgot to mention, I won the drawing for prizes because of an assignment I got an A on. I chose a pencil case out of the prize box. There was an eyeball bouncy ball, but I didn't see the point in having one. Not to mention, Jim might have eaten it if I wasn't paying attention. *wink*

Our reading session seemed to inch so slowly. I read my sentences pretty quick. I thought I was going to die while waiting for everyone else.... But what I can do? They are mandatory reading sessions. There are only a select few people who can read Braille fairly quickly. Finally, 5:30 PM rolled around. I stuck around to look over the homework and then left for English class.

We started promptly at 6 PM. Our teacher read off the names and asked each one of us what our majors are. He's such a nice guy. I didn't feel like the class dragged at all due to the interesting conversation. It didn't feel like a lecture. People actually talked. He walked us through what we will eventually have to do for our end of the semester research papers. He was explaining what topics he didn't want for papers. The topic of drinking underage on campus came up. LOL I had fun listening to people talk. We took a break at 7:05 PM. Teacher and I talked for a couple minutes. Then he went out of the room. Class resumed at 7:30 PM. The lecture was about the articles. We had a debate session. People tossed ideas and opinions back and forth. My classmate Lindsay and I were intrigued. She's a nice person too. Yay, I'm meeting nice people in class! WooT! Thirty points for not falling asleep! But it's such a good class... even if it is 2 hours and 40 minutes long. I left Reavis hall talking to another classmate who I found out was Korean. Hehe - Yay for us Koreans!

I got back to my room, fed Jim, and walked back to retrieve the second assignment for Braille. On my way there, someone said, "Hey Sarah!" I responded stupidly, "Hello? Who's that? Who is you?" It was Zach who in turn, said, "It's Zach, It's OK. I'll talk to you later." (He was also on the phone.) Talk about embarrassing. I got to the building and like I said, there were only 6 errors. I was stunned. I seriously thought I would get more taken off. Christie and others were still in the hall. I talked with Christie until Freedom came and picked her up. I came back to my room and did Braille homework while talking to people online and Barb on the phone.

Tomorrow is music class day. Our first exam is on Thursday. I hope I survive.
