Saturday And Its Merits
Sep. 7th, 2008 03:09 amWhy do people always call me to go get food with them? Perhaps it's only Sarah that does that. But usually that's my incentive to get up in the morning. Anyway, Sarah called me at about 11:40 AM. I'm still groggy and asleep. She asks, "Want to go to the DPD (Dog Pound Deli) for food in an hour?" I responded with an "I don't know. I'll call you back in 20 minutes." Then I had to think about it and realized... Oh shit, I'm meeting
mookachoo at Starbucks at 1 PM. I called Sarah back and asked her if we can go right then and there and be back by 1. She said yes. So, we walked all the way to Douglas (dorm) and ordered our wraps. I got a wrap with salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, onion, green peppers, oils, vinaigrettes, and spices. i also included dog bone shaped sugar cookies, two bags of chips, and a drink. I ate and watched the time while conversing with Sarah about theatre and random other stuff. I got a call not too long later saying that
mookachoo was running late. Sarah and I walked back to my room and I showed her my Braille homework because she was curious on how difficult it was. She navigated me to Starbucks and then went to the theatre building.
I met
mookachoo and ordered a iced caramel matiahdo. (I think that's what it was.) It was sweet and bitter and interesting. I've never seen a drink like that. We talked for about an hour, she got to meet Jim, and then went our separate ways. It was nice havin' coffee with ya! I headed back to my room, retrieved my Brailler and materials, went to the student center and was told that the buses are screwy. It would take long to get to my friend's apartment.
coolheart and I took the Freedom Mobile at 4 PM and arrived at the apartment 12 minutes later. I dictated for my friend and helped out as much as I could. No one really proofread my homework. That may happen tomorrow though. I arrived back at my dorm at 8 PM.
Not long after, Ryan picked me up and we went to his place. I left Jim behind because I didn't want people petting him without my knowledge. There were quite a few people there. They were watching baseball. I wasn't very interested. Then they booted up the XBox 360 and started playing RockBand. Let me tell you, I can't stand people who are tone deaf and can't sing. Not to mention, games similar to DDR annoy me. The gaming continued for a long time. I got really bored, really fast. I wanted to leave after an hour. Sarah suggested that we go out on the porch and talk to Ryan and his friend Audrey. The conversation went everywhere. The gaming noises were dying down and we came back inside. People were leaving. Before I knew it, there were only seven people altogether. We talked and joked. Then the three people left and Sarah, Ryan, his girl Lauren, and I were left. Sarah and I were debating on walking back because neither of the two could drive. (We can guess why.) Ryan was worried. Finally, Sarah and I decided to walk back. It was 2 AM when we started the trek back to campus. It took us 22 minutes to walk to Neptune from Ryan's apartment. No one harassed us, but there was a lot of intoxicated and drugged people on the sidewalk. It was a little intimidating, but I wasn't scared. There were cops everywhere. I reached my room after taking Sarah to the door heading to Neptune North.
I'm exhausted at 3:40 AM and will be going to bed very shortly.
Overall, quite an interesting day. I was flustered, but I managed.
Oh, and did I mention how much I love how the weather is getting colder? I love fall and winter. I can't wait for the cold to sink in. Most people I know get very depressed during this time, but I'm convinced that I have reversed SAD syndrome. I know that a lot of people attending this university hate the cold, but I love it more than the heat.. This town is known for festivities in the fall season. I can barely wait.... It's only September, but time is definitely flying.
P.S. I made new ringtones using Audacity. My current ringtone is in German performed by Tokio Hotel. The chorus is simply, "Ich liebe dich... [I love you]". Don't tell me that's not adorable. Jim also found a new friend. She's a cute little yellow labbie named Sundance.
