It was like any other day.... an ordinary day.... Nothing overly new was going to happen.....
This morning I was lucky to not have choir. Adam and I hung out. He helped me study for my test and then he drove me to Barb's house.
I went to MCC and think I did OK on my test for Music Appreciation.
I know I bombed the short answer section about sonata allegro form.
Not long after, Barb and I went to her house to find food and work on homework.
I went to english class. Prof had a talk with me and asked me how I was doing on my research for the upcoming paper.
I need to go to the library later today. English wasn't too much of a bust. *grin*
I waited around and talked to Susan who was working at IT and doing a whole bunch of stuff. She sketched me for her class.
It actually looks very nice and it's posted on Facebook. She did a great job and even included Jim in the picture.
I lazed around the commons area and then met up with Adam again before jazz band. My friend who I recruited for the trumpet section didn't show up. But I got to solo again. They were fairly long improvisations. I got to solo in 2 of the 3 pieces we played. I am getting better at this.... Jim was on his best behavior. He was snoozing and sighing and wagging his tail. The dog loves music. What can I say?
Overall, I was satisfied with my participation. Jazz band was over and I got to tinker with the piano.
It was really fun. I got compliments from Barb's music theory teacher about my playing.
Adam found me again after all that jazz.. *grin* Pun intended.
He drove me home and now I've been on the computer for the past 2 hours.
Here's the best part.....
When I got home, I fed Jim and immediately was on the computer. I looked up and saw a bowl like thing on the top of my desk. It blended in so I hadn't noticed it before. I put my finger in the bowl and felt water and then looked into the bowl and saw a fish. It pretty much surprised me. He's the fish shown below. Bettas are gorgeous.... I named him Whitacre after Eric Whitacre because I enjoy listening to and performing his pieces. For some reason, the color blue reminds me of a lot of his compositions. For example, October and Cloudburst and Water Night.... I don't know anyone who doesn't like Eric Whitacre.
Thus, my night ends with a smile on my face and a new friend....
P.S. I moved him from my desk to the dresser because the desk wasn't sturdy and I didn't want it to wobble every time I pushed the keyboard drawer back in.
