c_for_chaos: (Happiness = Music)
So, I failed to post my concert review for Lifehouse. Here it is... *smile*

The concert was intense!!!! AHHH!!

Here's what happened:

I woke up this morning at around 11 ish. I had texted Adam earlier and told him not to call the box office for an extra ticket. He later called me and asked me why and I said that Kelsey wasn't coming. She had changed her mind at the very last minute around 2 in the morning. What a bummer...
I phoned Andrea and told her the bad news. She called her mother and sister and told them that she was swapping cars. I went to my 2 PM class and left at 2:40 PM but didn't get a hold of Andrea till 3. We could have been in Chicago sooner if I just looked in the computer lab. Stupid music building.. with it's stupid no service areas... Andrea and I drove to Elburn and was there an hour early. She wanted to go to a gas station, but I declined. Our train came. Andrea was all over the metra train and told me where everything was. For the last 45 minutes of the ride to Chicago, we watched Jet Li's "Hero". We arrived in Chicago at 5:50 PM, bought our all day CTA passes, and scadaddled to the Clinton El station. We took the green line to State/Lake stop and transfered to a red line train that took us straight to Loyola. We arrived at around 7 PM. I was flippin' out because I thought we would miss Lifehouse. Kerry met us and she gave us our tickets in exchange for $20. That's what made this concert even better. Tickets for students outside of Loyola were only $10 a person. Loyola students only had to pay $3. Everything was held in a gymnasium also known as the Gentile Center. There was an opening band that was OK, but who puts a country band as an opening band for a Christian rock group? Ah well, they were pretty fun none-the-less. Andrea and I stood in the midst of all these people. Then I got fed up with not being able to see over all the tall people. So I weedled my way through the crowd and miraculously found myself all the way upfront and stage right. We were right next to the speakers and it wasn't very condensed. Three people were standing at the rail in front of us. There was break that took FOREVER..!! It was 15 past 8 and finally, the lights turned green on the backdrop. Everyone became antsy and cheery. At last, they walk on. So intense, so much smoke, so much energy. Everyone was so pumped! <3 Jason Wade is my HERO! <3 My God, I thought he was amazing looking on the album covers and in the music videos... But he's even better in person and a wayyyyyy talented musician. Live performances on CDs don't do justice IMO. They performed songs that everyone knows including: You and Me, Simon, Hanging By a Moment, Make Me Over, Spin, Who We Are, Into the Sun, Storm, and First Time. That's all I remember... The night went so fast.... Before I knew it, they were doing their encore. I had to say, I was almost crying at the end because Lifehouse is one of my favorite bands and I actually got to see them LIVE in concert. That NEVER happens to me. **NEVER** Remember those three people hangin' out by the rail? Yeah, they ruined my thunder by sulking the entire concert. They were pissed at each other and then happy the next moment. Gosh, I wanted to tell them, either get into the music or go to the back and you can sulk and bitch at each other all you want. But, them tossed aside.... My favorite part was when Jason started singing "You and Me" and Andrea and put our arms on each others shoulders and sang with him. The entire crowd was so into it.... That kinda stuff is magical. I walked out of that building feeling like I was on SPEED. Not that I've ever done drugs like that... But it was so euphoric I didn't know what to do with my energy. Andrea and I went onto the el platform, was on the wrong side, and had to switch and wait for another train. We got to Lake street and went upstairs to the platform to board the green line, but one of the platforms were closed. So there were only outbound trains.... We hurriedly decided to take the pink line, then realized that it had to go around the loop before it reached Clinton. Oh well.... At least it went to Clinton. Ogalvie was 2 blocks away and when we got there, we each ordered a number 6 from Taco Bell and scarfed it down. Damn, I was so beat.... We found out metra train, boarded and found seats. There was a guy who didn't have enough money to get to where he wanted to go. Why am I always in a car with someone crazy who gets escorted off the train every time I'm on the Metra train at night? It doesn't matter what car I'm in, there's always drama. Another thing that I felt was highly unfair was that Elburn to Chicago conductors apparently don't give two fucks about people putting their feet up on the seats. Whereas, at home, the conductors suffer from strokes and yell at us. ROFL - fun times... Anyway, we got to Elburn and stopped to get Coke at the gas station. We had to go to Jewel because the gas station didn't have cream soda which I desperately had a taste for. We got the soda and the car wouldn't start. It would've sucked to be stuck in Elburn at 2 AM. After a little while, it started. (THANK GOD!) We arrived at Neptune and I signed Andrea in, went to my room, and went to bed....

First image, surprisingly was taken by my camera. One would never think that a digital can get a pic like that... We were frickin' 20 feet away from him! It's almost like that picture is photoshopped to look good.... Nope that's all the lighting and camera... Whahahaha! I was all crazy screaming "That's the frickin' awesome guitar from all the vids!!!"
Second image, he's singin' hardcore.. I love it... LOL - I <3 guys who can sing....
