For Granted
Jul. 1st, 2008 08:04 amI never knew how amazing showers were until I couldn't take a proper one for four days, I know that sounds completely grody and I would never let anyone near me. But seriously, I love showers. Our boiler had not been working and then it exploded a couple days ago. How frickin' convenient, right? So, I had no choice but to mill about the house doing my chores, feeling nasty about myself.
My poor ratty is sick. I believe she has a respiratory infection. *sigh* Poor thing. She's a year and two months now. :) I'm fortunate to have had her that long. The rats I've had in the past all have had something wrong with them and would die in the first six months. Seroopy lived for a couple months and was pretty much my best friend and first rat. I had gotten her from a friend who breeds rats. She was runty and didn't have that much strength. Then came Riyo, who was infested with some sort of bug, and didn't live for long. I got him from the same friend. Cherry lived for a year and then got very sick. I still love rats as pets though. I know that if Mimi doesn't live that much longer, I'll want rats in the future for my apartment. For now, I'm glad Mimi is showing some strength and eating. I'm not going to give up on her.
Meanwhile, I'm preparing for my 25 day trip. I'm ecstatic to be going somewhere I haven't visited in a long time. Not to mention, I get to bring someone back with me. My suitcase is gigantic and will have a lot of stuff in it. I'm also bringing my laptop so I can webcam with people back home. Pretty schnazzy. Yay, I can't wait! I have to say though, I'm happy that we get our own bathrooms at GDF. I wouldn't mind a roomie, but having my own bathroom with a tub - sounds heavenly. I could take a bath every night if I have time.
Yup, it's early and I posted. Ingenious, I know!
