Birthday!

Today I turned 19 at 12:41 AM.

My birthday dinner went really well. Adam and I hung out pretty much all day till 4:45 PM. He left and then let me randomly write journals on LJ and shower. 6:20 PM rolled around and I didn't know what to wear. We were going to go to Nick's Pizza and Pub which is right near my father's martial arts studio.

I, of course, was under dressed.  I didn't mean to. But I guess my intuition just told me to wear something comfortable. I wore my NIU huskie Bash tshirt along with some Nike basketball shorts and brought along a blue hoodie with the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind written on it. We arrived at Nick's and Adam was going to make me walk in with my eyes closed. I suggested I just wear my hoodie backwards. He liked that idea. So, I did, but ended up practically suffocating and running into stuff. Highly embarrassing... but amusing. We walked what seemed to be forever. Once I reached the near end of the walkway, I heard laughter and recognized it as all of my friends. I must have looked ridiculous with my hoodie on backward and the hood on my face. Adam instructed me to take the hood down. Everyone was there!!

Bradford, Amanda, Barb, Emily, Sarah, Kelly, Emma, Joanna, Britton, Diana, Rick, Matt, Kerry, Adam and I were all present at the table. 15 including Adam and I. We were joking around and talking. Unfortunately, I was placed the head of the table. So, I was mostly talking to Rick, Matt, Kelly, and Adam. We ordered our pizza. There were four: cheese, sausage, pepperoni, and margarita. All excellent choices. While we were waiting, I was opening presents. I got chocolate and Haribo gummies from Joanna, a coloring book, chocolate, and Indiana Jones from Matt, Kelly, and Rick, bubbles and sidewalk chalk from Emma, a Broadway hits CD from Emily, lotion and a Rammstein live CD from Barb, and a necklace from Sarah. What amazing gifts. Pizza came whilst I was opening gifts. A woman from the other table asked Rick how to use the calculator on her Razr. I was watching and laughing to myself. Mean, but still... I had three pieces of margarita. (I am still hungry but didn't want Adam to pay a bigger bill than he had to.) There was one piece left of margarita. It was passed around the table till it got to me. They wanted me to eat it, but I gave it to Matt who poured pepper all over it. Then he and Rick each ate half of it. Complete amusement for after dinner. One of my friends, Ashley, couldn't come due to being sick and a double ear infection. I talked to her on the phone but was cut off by the waitress bringing in a shake with a candle in it. Immediately the countdown was on and the birthday song began. The entire room, our table, the table full of older people, and I think some others were singing Happy Birthday! 40 people sang for me... What a flippin' thunderous birthday song it was! I blew out the one candle and then licked the whipped cream off of it. I was thoroughly flattered and embarrassed from the song. Then one of the ladies from the other table approached me and said, "Want to hear the shortest birthday song?" I nodded. She sang, "This is your birthday song. It isn't very long." At first I was confused, then she was all "that's it." and I busted out laughing because I thought there was more. I slurped my shake down like nothing. It was excellent! Enough chocolate goodness to last a couple days. Not long after, it was time to leave.

Adam invited everyone to his house to watch Indiana Jones. Everyone went but Kelly, Matt, and Rick. They had other plans. Adam went ahead while Sarah and I stayed back to play the crane game. We each spent a dollar, but it was my 50 cents that won us two stuffed toys. We have joint custody over a looney toons frog and an orca whale. The frog is named Alfred and we haven't named the whale yet. I'm planning on visiting Sarah at work tomorrow and trading. We drove to Adam's house and arrived to find the entire party in his living room. They were listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, an awesome band, in my opinion. Adam soon after began the film. Sarah and I pretty much fooled around with the stuffed animals by bothering Britton with them and tying Alfred's arms and legs together. Bradford, Amanda, and Diana had to leave so I said my goodbyes. I got back to the movie and continued pestering Britton. I was slightly annoyed that I was alone in the lazy boy. Adam was sitting in the front on the floor. I moved seats and went to the other side of the room and received interesting commentary from Kerry. It helps that she explained what happened every time there was an outburst from everyone else. Finally, the movie was over. I said my goodbyes to everyone. Sarah, Britton, and Kerry decided to stick around. We chatted for a while and went outside to their cars. I said my goodbyes and then went back inside to discuss the now obsolete Chicago trip for today, the 10th. Then came back out to go home. Sarah and Britton were still outside. I hugged them both again.

Adam took me home, but I asked if he'd stay till 12:41 AM because that's the time I was born. He agreed to stay for a little while. We colored 4 pictures in the coloring book, listened to the broadway CD and talked. I soon was bored with coloring. We were talking about Chicago and how it should wait for Sunday when I am not bound to an overly busy schedule with TKD. There are no Sunday classes. I was anticipating 12:41. It finally came and Adam kissed me 19 times. Then we talked about the future and him possibly living with me for summer 09. I'm planning on buying an apartment near NIU. We went into detail on chores, decoration, furniture, lifestyle, and recipes we want to try. It was good talking to him about this possibility. It's so great to know that we are still so close when there were so many difficulties in the past. Before I knew it, it was 1:30 AM. Adam was tired... We are completely opposite when it comes to sleep. I am nocturnal. He is a sloth and can't function without at least 8 hours. We said goodnight.

I'm not sure what my plans are for this actual day... We just need to wait and see.

Awake

Sun is out but it's not humid! YES! The best weather for my day! Note: I hate humidity and heat.

I was woken by my mom at 8 AM. She was talking to me and unfortunately I'm not one to tune things out too well. I listened to her and mumbled about last night. She sampled the chocolates from Joanna. Then I pretty much stopped responding because I was so tired still. Fortunately, she left me alone. I heard my parents talking about me and had my father attempt to wake me up around 8:30. Of course, I ignored it.

My sister came back from summer running at 9:30 PM. Her prime thing to do was to jump on me to wake me up. How can you ignore 135 pounds on top of you? She ate 3 of my chocolates from Joanna. We talked for a while. She wouldn't leave me alone! Ah, but siblings have the potential to be love-able no matter how irritating they are in real life.

That's my day so far....

I'm having a dilemma about Sunday. I forgot it's Father's Day. I don't want to ignore my dad and go off with Adam to Chicago. What if he wants to spend Father's Day with his dad? Erg, not too happy about this realization...

I probably should have gone to Chicago today. I'm sitting here alone in my room, journaling for entertainment. Things could be so much better if people weren't doing stuff and had cars. CL bites....
